Elizabeth ‘Betty’ C. Kupeerus

Dec. 5, 1924-Oct. 28, 2009

MILFORD — Elizabeth “Betty” C. Kupeerus, 84, formerly of New Paris, died Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born Dec. 5, 1924 in Harleysville, Pa., to Allan and Alice (Moyer) Clemmer.

Betty was a school teacher for 39 years, teaching at New Paris and Goshen schools. She was a member of College Mennonite Church, Goshen. Betty enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She loved to travel with her family and especially liked going to Europe.

She married Sjoerd Kupeerus in May 1956. He survives.

Also surviving are her son, Gerald (Vickie) Kupeerus, New Paris; two grandchildren, Chris Kupeerus and Jeremy Kupeerus, both of New Paris; two great-grandchildren, Lexin and Xander, both of New Paris; a sister, Alice (Norm) Rittenhouse, and a brother, Marvin Clemmer, boty of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and three sisters.

Friends may call Sunday one hour before the 2 p.m. funeral service at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford.

Burial will be private.
