R. Robert Gingerich

R. Robert Gingerich, 76, of Goshen, died Saturday at 11:55 p.m. at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born Jan. 22, 1933, in Kouts to Ed and Mary (Owen) Gingerich.
He married Jennette Ann Miller Nov. 1, 1958, in New Paris. She died June 12, 1994. He then married Patricia Stanley Nov. 4, 1995, in Goshen. She survives.
He worked as a home designer draftman, a financial adviser and retired in 1995 as a carpenter for Ownings Construction Co. in Sarasota, Fla.
He was a 1951 graduate of Valparaiso High School, and a 1956 graduate of Tri-State University.
He served in the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955. He moved from Valparaiso to Sarasota, Fla., in 1977.
Robert was also a caretaker for his wife and son, who both had Muscular Dystrophy for many years.
He served as an elder at Sarasota Christian Church for about 30 years, and enjoyed golfing.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Jodie Ann (Bobby) LaMarre, Sarasota, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Terri Lazarus, Bristol; a stepson, Douglas (Kim) Beutler, Fort Wayne; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; a son, Craig R. Gingerich; and two brothers, Owen and Kenneth Gingerich.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brenneman Memorial Missionary church, Goshen.
A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Richardson officiating.
Visitation and services will also be held in Sarasota later this week. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
