MIDDLEBURY — Amos W. Yoder, 88, 11517 C.R. 20, Middlebury, Ind., died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1921, in Haven, Kan., to William D. and Susie (Yoder) Yoder.
On Nov. 23, 1944, in Oklahoma he married Wilma Elizabeth Stutzman. She died Oct. 27, 2005.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and retired from Victorian Homes, Middlebury, after working there for 25 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine (Robert) Mullet, Middlebury, and Dora (John) Miller of Nappanee; seven grandchildren; seven sisters, Katie Cross, Middlebury, Polly Fry, Fairview, Mich., Anna (Glen) Fry, Topeka, Verna (Mervin) Miller, Ligonier, Edna Miller, Topeka, Ruby (Elmer) Byler, Millersburg, Merle (Ottie) Yoder and Castalian Springs, Tenn.; four brothers, Felty (Ruby) Yoder, Topeka, William (Lora) Yoder, Syracuse, Albert (Rosa) Yoder, Topeka and David (Ida Mae) Yoder, Shipshewana.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Wilma Elizabeth Yoder; six brothers, Daniel, Joseph, Herman, Perry, Ora and Elmer Yoder; and four sisters, Sadie Sommerlot, Clara Slabach, Susanna Keim and Betsy Fry.
Visitation was after 2 p.m. Sunday and all day Monday at the family residence. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the LaVern O. Miller residence, 11460 C.R. 20, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Bishop Alvin Hershberger and the home ministers.
Burial will be in Bontrager Cemetery, Middlebury.
