William L. ‘Bill’ Stutzman

March 26, 1918-Oct. 5, 2009

BREMEN — William L. “Bill” Stutzman, 91, Bremen Healthcare Center, formerly of Bourbon, died Monday at 5:30 p.m. at Bremen Health Care Center.

He was born March 26, 1918, in Goshen, to Levi L. and Emma (Hochstetler) Stutzman. He was a lifetime resident of this area.

He married Lovina L. Hochstetler on Nov. 11, 1942, in Goshen. She preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1997.

He had worked on a silo crew for Bourbon Silo Co. A lifetime farmer, he was a self-employed welder and also a watch repairman. He traveled in the area doing evangelism work.

He was affiliated with the Full Gospel Businessman Association, was a former member of the Old Order Amish Church and attended NorthWood Chapel.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay Fisher, Nappanee; a son, Ray W. Stutzman, Mentone; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-granchildren; sisters Barbara Helmuth, Nappanee, Lizzie Troyer, Michigan, Lydia Mae Hochstetler, Nappanee, Mary Yoder, Nappanee, Annie Stutzman, California, Fannie (Eldon) Yoder, Salem, Mo., and Sylvia Kohler, Nappanee; and a brother, Joe Stutzman, Nappanee.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Mae Stutzman; and five brothers, Levi, Harvey, Eli, Alvin and Roman Stutzman.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to services at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
