Charles A. Wiederman, 78, 15414 C.R. 22, Middlebury, died Wednesday at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
He was born June 4, 1931 to George and Jennie Marie (Stump) Wiederman in Leonidas, Mich. and lived in the Goshen and Middlebury areas most of his life.
He married Geraldine A. Pederson on Nov. 19, 1958 in Arlington, S.D.
He attended Goshen High School, served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, with 18 months service in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the Goshen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 985.
He was employed for 34 years at Johnson Controls.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Jennifer Wiederman, Elkhart and Elizabeth (Ken) Bontrager, Elkhart; a son, Charles P. (Christine) Wiederman, Middlebury; a daughter-in-law, Lois Wiederman, Elkhart; two sisters, Helen Haagar, Hammond and Georgia Pitt, Marshall, Mich.; and a brother, Robert (Lois) Wiederman, Goshen; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son in 1998, Steven Wiederman; three brothers, Lloyd, Harold and Glen Wiederman; and a sister, Katherine Hoovener.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Goshen, with the Rev. Andrew J. Wollman officiating.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
