Charles A. Keil, 84, 1232 Greencroft Drive, Goshen, died Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. at Goshen General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 31, 1923, to Edward F. and Frances (Pekoc) Keil, in Chicago, Ill. He was a 1942 graduate of Goshen High School.
He was an auto mechanic for 46 years, retiring from Showalter Buick, Goshen, and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married Patricia Ruth Woods, Aug. 16, 1947, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Ruth (David) Dean, Brownsburg, Jane (Charles) Miller, Trenton, Mich., Kristine (Charles) Cragun, Osceola, and Suzanne Carter, Elkhart; two sons, Martin (Sharon) Keil, Munster, and Larry (Kristin) Keil, Middlebury; a sister, Frances R. Keil, Goshen; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Angela Keil; three sisters, Louise Daub, Marie Radkey and Grace Neterer; and two brothers, Edward J. Keil and Ramond Keil.
Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, where a Rosary service will begin at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will take place Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen. The Rev. Christopher Smith of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will lead the service.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
