Robert E. Stutz

March 7, 1927-July 4, 2009

Robert E. Stutz, 82, 1905 Mayfield Drive, Goshen, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday at Courtyard Healthcare, Goshen, after being in failing health since November 2008.

He was born March 7, 1927 in Goshen to Gene and Faye (Sherman) Stutz.

He married Aileen Hamilton on Sept. 11, 1948 in South Bend.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was a member of the Middlebury VFW.

During his lifetime residency in Goshen, he worked at Plumrose for 30 years, where he was most recently a delivery and shipping clerk.

He was a member of the First Church of God and loved to fish and work in the yard.

Surviving are his wife; sons Ron (Janice) Stutz, Buchanan, Mich., and Dan (Gail) Stutz, New Paris; granddaughter Kori Stutz, Lakeville; step-grandson Joshua Callicoat, Elkhart; great-grandson Gabriel Stutz; sister Virginia (Gene) Calvert, Atlanta, Ga.; and brother Dick (Judy) Stutz, Middlebury.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Edward Stutz.

His body will be cremated and burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, at a later date.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of God, Goshen. Pastor Troy Scott of First Church of God will lead the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Parkinson’s Association or the First Church of God.
