Orlin F. Boggs

July 28, 1916-July 3, 2009

Orlin F. Boggs, 92, of Goshen, IN and formerly of Howe, IN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2009, at Waterford Crossing in Goshen.

He was born on July 28, 1916, in Defiance, Ohio, to Frank and Matilda (Wolf) Boggs. They both preceded him in death. He graduated from Mongo School and continued education in Accounting and Financial Planning. Living most of his lifetime in LaGrange County, he was a member of English Prairie Church of the Brethren in Howe, IN, the LaGrange County Farm Bureau, of which he was county president for many years and spent winters in Bradenton, FL. He was an outstanding dairy farmer over the years and a custodian of Brighton School for 20 years.

Mr. Boggs married Romayne (Gibson) Agley on June 3, 1951, in Brighton, IN. She survives in Goshen.

Also surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Twyla (Gerald) Dudley of Scottsdale, AZ, Diane (Robert) Robinson of Middlebury, IN, and Sally (Mark) Hans of Mishawaka, IN; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Duane (Arlys) Boggs of Howe, Robert (Kathy) Agley of Monticello, IN, Dave (Connie) Boggs of LaGrange, IN, Dan (Kathy) Agley of Glen Arm, MD, Dick (Gerrie) Boggs of Whitewater, CO; and Dan Boggs of Indianapolis, IN; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a sister and brother-in-law, Idonna (Duane) Mireley of Howe.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Clara (Bowman) Boggs on October 20, 1950; a son, Dennis Boggs on February 15, 1970; a granddaughter, Kelly Jo Boggs on September 16, 1972; two sisters, Marvel Robbins and Dorothy Ankney; and two brothers, Donald and Burdette Boggs.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at English Prairie Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Dwight Kauffman officiating.

Burial will be in English Prairie Cemetery in Howe.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday, July 6, 2009, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange, IN.

Memorials may be made to English Prairie Church of the Brethren.
