Margaret K. Hostetler
March 16, 1922-June 29, 2009
Margaret K. Hostetler, 87, 1425 Greencroft Drive, No. 208, Goshen, died Monday at 9:25 p.m. at Greencroft Healthcare as the result of a stroke. She had been ill since November 2008 and had lived in this area for the last five years.
She was born March 16, 1922, in Sturgis, Ky., to Florence Lee and Linnie (Farris) Bryan.
She married Jacob “Jake” Hostetler Aug. 24, 1946, in Port Huron, Mich. He survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Susan (Ted) Zwemer, Champaign, Ill.; a son, Mark (Nancy) Hostetler, Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandsons, Johnmark Hostetler and Gabriel Hostetler; and a sister, Rachel (Allan) Litfin, Sterling Heights, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Charles Bryan; and two sisters, Mildred Tolley and Reba Patterson.
Margaret was a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College and served together with her husband as a missionary for the Christian Missionary Alliance in the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Colombia. She also ministered faithfully alongside her husband in churches in Indiana, Illinois, Texas and Florida. She attended Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen.
She loved to sing and play the piano. Her love for God and people was evident to everyone she met. If you want to look her up when you get to Heaven, you will find her in one of the choirs.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Friday at Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church, Goshen. The Revs. Bill Richardson, George Nantz and Gordon Bacon will lead the service.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery.
