Harold A. Yoder, 93, 1225 Greencroft Drive, Goshen, died Wednesday at 9:05 a.m. at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen.
He was born Feb. 1, 1915, in Middlebury, to David E. and Lizzie (Troyer) Yoder.
He attended Eight Square country school, Middlebury High School and Goshen College. He married Erma E. Sigler, Dec. 5, 1936, in Benton. She preceded him in death Dec. 28, 2005.
He was a 27-year employee of Middlebury school system as custodian and bus driver, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Harold and his wife Erma were involved in church work most of their married life. He was the assistant pastor of First Mennonite Church for 18 years, and two years in Kalamazoo, Mich. They later started Berea Missionary Church, Shipshewana.
Surviving are his daughter, Miriam (Verl) Kauffman, Goshen; his son, Glen (Sherry) Yoder, Warsaw; one grandson; four stepgrandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Luefling, Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Alvin and Raymond Yoder.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
Burial will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. prior to the memorial service at Gracelawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Linford Martin.
Memorials may be made to an agency of the donor’s choice.
