ELKHART, Ind. — Richard D. Schaffer, 80, died at 12:42 p.m. Tuesday of natural causes at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.
He married Charlotte J. Hostetler Jan. 26, 1947, in Elkhart. She died Nov. 23, 2007.
He is survived by three daughters, Judith (Ron) Renshaw, Snellville, Ga., Barbara (Ron) Foeckler, Elkhart, and Cheryl Schaffer, Indianapolis; and two sons, Michael (Carolyn) Schaffer, Elkhart, and James (Bonnie) Schaffer, Nappanee.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Zion Missionary Church.
The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, is handling arrangements.
