WARSAW, Ind. — Katherine Ruth Barkey, 85, Miller’s Assisted Living, Warsaw, died Thursday at 8:58 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born June 12, 1922, in Plymouth to Ray and Elma Ann (Thompson) Welborn.
She married Lowell M. Barkey, Feb. 8, 1942. He died in 2001.
She was a homemaker who lived the past 50 years in Kosciusko County. She was a member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw, and the Kosciusko Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are her two sons, Philip (Marsha) Barkey, Winona Lake, and Ray (Deborah) Barkey, Goshen; three grandchildren, Curt Barkey, Winona Lake, Ben (Danelle) Barkey, Winona Lake, and Michael Barkey, Goshen; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Burkett, Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister; and a grandson, David, in 1985.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. The Rev. James Davis will conduct the service.
A graveside service and interment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth, at 2 p.m. Monday.
