Martha Troyer

Martha Troyer, 92, 1212 Waterford Crossing, Room 808, Goshen, died Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at her home.
She was born in Shipshewana, Jan. 15, 1916 to Levi C. and Fannie (Beachy) Yoder.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer at Goshen Hospital, Goshen Hospice, Mennonite Board of Missions and a member of East Goshen Mennonite Church. She graded Bible studies for Gospel Echoes and provided a home to the employees. She also provided a community home for Oaklawn residents.
She married Jerome Troyer in Shipshewana, Dec. 12, 1935. He died in 1981.
Also surviving are five daughters, Joyce (Fred) Landis, Motley, Minn., Julia (Lee) Bauman, Nappanee, Donna (Dana) Sommers, Sturgis, Mich., Janice (Amos) Hostetler, Goshen, June (Stan) Yoder, Goshen; son Jerome (Sally) Troyer, Jr., Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Irma (Howard) Troyer, Shipshewana, Edna Miller, Sturgis, Mich., Mary Gingerich, Goshen; and a brother, Levi Yoder, Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; four brothers, Alvin, Perry, Aaron and William Yoder; and a sister, Barbara Mullet.
Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at East Goshen Mennonite Church. The Rev. Steve Slagel of East Goshen Mennonite Church and Martha’s nephew, Rev. Ken Miller of Moorepark Church, Three Rivers, Mich., will lead the service.
Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Goshen Care at Home Hospice or Gideons International.
