PREP BOYS BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS: Hoop pick guru vexed by NLC matchups

GOSHEN — Saturday

East Noble at Goshen — The Goshen Redskins have won 10 of the last 16 games with the Knights, including a 54-45 decision last season. The DeKalb Barons, led by GHS grad Jon Everingham, is the only common foe. East Noble lost to the  Barons 60-42 while the Redskins dropped a 51-46 decision. The Knights are struggling this season and have won only two games. Goshen.

Northridge at West Noble — Northridge has dominated this series with 17 wins in the last 19 games, including a 54-47 decision last season. Northridge is 2-3 against common foes compared to 3-2 for West Noble. The Northridge Raiders have played the tougher schedule with opposing teams having a combined record of 151-104 compared to 111-146 for West Noble. Northridge.

Fairfield at Angola — These two played last month in the NECC tournament with the Falcons winning 40-29. Fairfield holds a slim 10-9 lead in recent meetings with Angola. Fairfield’s opponents have a combined record of 145-123 compared to 113-131 for the Hornets. Fairfield.

Central Noble at Wawasee — Central Noble was a 77-66 winner last season, but that is the only win for the Cougars in the last seven meetings with the Warriors. Central Noble has an 0-4 record versus common opponents while Wawasee is 2-2. Wawasee.

Tuesday

SB Riley at Concord — The Minutemen have a 7-4 lead in recent meetings with the SB Riley Wildcats. Both teams have 7-1 records versus common opponents this season. Concord has played a little tougher schedule with opponents having a combined 130-110 mark compared to 116-115 for Riley. This could be a close one and playing at home in McCuen Gym where the Minutemen have not lost this season should help. Concord.

Jimtown at Bethany — The Bethany Bruins were 51-39 winners last season, but the Jimtown Jimmies have won 13 of the last 20 contests with Bethany. Jimtown has a 2-6 record against common foes while Bethany is 1-7. Jimtown.

John Glenn at NorthWood — The NW Panthers have won 10 of the last 14 games with the John Glenn Falcons, including last season by a score of 50-39. NorthWood has played a tougher schedule with opponents having a combined record of 154-100 compared to 133-144 for John Glenn. NorthWood.

Westview at Wawasee — Westview was an 71-74 winner a year ago. Against common foes this season Westview is 7-1 while Wawasee is 2-4. Westview.
