When it comes to winning relay titles in recent years at Goshen, teams from Fairfield High School be it boys or girls have the upper hand.
The Fairfield boys recently captured a fifth straight Class B title at the 71st running of the Goshen Relays for high school boys track and field.
The Fairfield girls will seeking a fifth straight title at the 24th annual Goshen Girls Relays Saturday at Foreman Field on the Goshen High School campus.
Field events begin at 9 a.m., running trials at 10 and finals at 11:30.
Competing teams besides the host Redskins are Fairfield, NorthWood, Wawasee, Bremen, John Glenn, Jimtown, Mishawaka Marian, New Prairie, Plymouth, South Bend Washington and Whitko.
The Falcons dominated the event a year ago, amassing 131 points to finish ahead of Bremen 84, Plymouth 74, Goshen 68 and NorthWood 60 to round out the top five.
Returning individual champions for Fairfield are Sophie Brown pole vault (11-6) and Sierra Smith in shot put (41-2 1/2).
The two-time defending high-point award winner — Becca Kropf — has graduated from the Falcon program.

Admission is $5 for ages kindergarten to adult. Goshen High School all-sport tickets and GHS student activity cards will be honored.
The only entrance is the main one by the concession stand. The entrance north of the home bleachers will no be open. Fans are asked to park in the west lot.
