REPORT: Nate Andrews next head football coach at NorthWood

Nate Andrews will be prowling the sidelines of Andrews Field next fall as head coach of the NorthWood Panthers according to published reports.

The Kokomo Tribune reported today that Andrews, the head coach at Western in central Indiana, told his team he was leaving to take over at his alma mater.

Andrews is a 1996 NorthWood grad and the son of legendary coach Jim Andrews, who was the head coach of the Panthers from 1972 until his death in 1992.

The younger Andrews was previously head coach at Lapel.

Andrews will take over for Scott Hoover who resigned last month. The Panthers went 30-27 with Hoover at the helm and went 4-6 this past season before falling to East Noble 55-21 in the opening round of the 4A state tournament.

Attempts to contact Andrews for comment Friday night were unsuccessful.
