• The Bethany Christian Bruins dropped a 41-38 thriller to Central Noble. Tim Cartmel netted 12 points and Seth Brenneman eight to lead the Bruins. Brazel scored 18 points and Phillips 11 for Central Noble.

• Seth Brenneman scored 13 points and Jonathan Yousey 10 for Bethany Christian in a 39-27 win over Westview. Leonard Wingard had 12 points for Westview.

•Tim Cartmel tossed in 19 points and Seth Brenneman 11 for Bethany in a 46-42 win over the Goshen JV. Riegsecker scored 15 points and Nafziger 13 for Goshen.

• Fairfield defeated Fremont 51-25 and Eastside 29-24 in a Land of Lakes Conference Shootout. Leading the Falcons in the Fremont contest were Luke Stephens 10 points, Tim Hostetler eight points and four rebounds, Matt Miller six points and four rebounds, Will Line, Zac Lantz, and Jordan Geyer each six points; Shandon Miller three assists and five steals, Connor Brew two assists and Evan Connolly two assists. In the Eastside contest, Stephens and Line both had eight points, Shandon Miller six points and 12 rebounds, Geyer seven rebounds and Lantz two steals.

6th Grade Boys Basketball

• Zach Green and Gabe Haines both netted four points for Lakeland in a 53-13 loss to Westview. Jeff Duzan had 10 points for the Lakeland Jv in a 34-21 loss.

Last weekend (July 12) the Goshen Parks Department held its Kid’s Try-athlon to promote childhood fitness and this week (July 18) the new bicycle trail is open to the fairgrounds in Goshen, offering residents a healthy way to get to the annual agriculture exposition.
