Bruins honor fall sports athletes

Participants in fall sports at Bethany Christian High School were honored at a recent awards program.

Following are special award winners.

Boys Soccer

Clifton Miller, sportsmanship; Nate Nussbaum, most valuable; Ian Bomberger, most improved; Joseph Mumaw, leadership.

Girls Soccer

Lynea Kaethler, sportsmanship; Lana Smucker, MVP, offensive award; Sammy Kauffman, defensive award; Yejin Kim, most improved.

Boys Tennis

Joel Gerig, most valuable; Abe Thorne, coaches award; Landon Weldy, most improved; Parth Patel, sportsmanship; Byeong Min Lim, JV most valuable.

Girls Cross Country

Hannah Yeakey, most valuable, Lena Yeakey, sportsmanship.

Boys Cross Country

Austin Hooley, most valuable.

Volleyball

Lorae Weaver, sportsmanship; Jordan Helmuth, team player award; Brooke hershberger, team player award; Marie Bontrager, team player award; Hannah Hochstetler, coaches award; Tessa Clark, JV award.

Last weekend (July 12) the Goshen Parks Department held its Kid’s Try-athlon to promote childhood fitness and this week (July 18) the new bicycle trail is open to the fairgrounds in Goshen, offering residents a healthy way to get to the annual agriculture exposition.
