Sectional pairings for the 103rd annual IHSAA boys basketball tournament were announced on Sunday.
Sectionals begin on Tuesday, Feb. 26 with semifinals on Friday, March 1 and championships on Saturday, March 2.
The local Class 4A sectional is at North Side Gym in Elkhart. In the first game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. the host Elkhart Central Blue Blazers meet the Warsaw Tigers followed by the Elkhart Memorial Crimson Chargers and the Goshen Redskins around 7:30. On Friday, in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. the Concord Minutemen square off with the Central-Warsaw winner followed by the Northridge Raiders and the Memorial-Goshen winner around 7:30. The championship tips off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Wawasee is the local 3A host. The first game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. matches the NorthWood Panthers and the West Noble Chargers followed by the host Warriors and the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings around 7:30. On Friday at 6 p.m. the Fairfield Falcons face the NorthWood-West Noble winner while around 7:30 the Lakeland Lakers meet the Wawasee-Tippecanoe Valley winner. The championship is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Westview is hosting a 2A sectional. The Bremen Lions and the host Warriors meet in the Tuesday opener at 6 p.m. followed by the Fremont Eagles and LaVille Lancers around 7:30. On Friday, the Central Noble Cougars face the Bremen-Westview winner at 6 p.m. while the Prairie Heights Panthers meet the Fremont-LaVille winner around 7:30. Game time for the championship is 7 p.m. Saturday.
Local 1A schools compete in the Hamilton sectional. On Tuesday, the Howe School Wildcats square off with the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers at 6 p.m. followed by the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles and the host Marines around 7:30. On Wednesday, Feb. 27 the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers face the Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian Braves at 6 p.m. followed by the Bethany Christian Bruins and the Lakeland Christian Cougars around 7:30. The semifinals are on Friday with Tuesday’s winners playing at 6 p.m. and Wednesday’s winners around 7:30. The championship tips off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday,
Regionals are on Saturday, March 9. The 4A winner at Elkhart advances to Michigan City, the 3A winner at Wawasee to Blackford, the 2A winner at Westview to North Judson and the 1A winner at Hamilton to Triton.
The northern semistates are on Saturday, March 16 at Lafayette Jefferson or Huntington North. The state finals are on Saturday, March 23 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
