Indiana to host 6 games on 2014 football schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana will have six home games on its 2014 football schedule including the conference opener against Big Ten newcomer Maryland.

The schedule released by the school Tuesday has Indiana opening its season Aug. 30 by hosting Indiana State. It's the third straight year the in-state teams will meet in the season opener at Memorial Stadium.

The Hoosiers only other non-conference home game is against North Texas on Oct. 4. In addition, the Hoosiers will host Big Ten rivals Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue, while visiting Iowa, Michigan, Rutgers and Ohio State.

Because of the conference realignment, Indiana will not face Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern or Wisconsin.

Tickets go on sale Wednesday.

The Hoosiers were 5-7 in 2013, one win short of becoming bowl eligible.

There has been discussion at West Goshen Elementary School to require mandatory student uniforms in the future. How do you feel about the prospect of mandatory student uniforms in a public school environment?

I think it’s an excellent idea that is way overdue
I think it’s a bad idea and would be restrictive for students and parents.
