Kitson, nearing TD record, leads Falcons into semifinals

Wilmore leaves some big shoes to fill as he is 81-of-156 passing (51.9 percent) for 1,473 yards. He has 20 TD passes and eight interceptions. Grooms is 4-of-6 for 36 yards and a TD and Fisher 4-of-9 for 76 yards in varsity appearances.

“We have told the guys in the offensive line they need to step up and embrace the two quarterbacks,” Dawson said. “We have told the kids about how Ryan McKibben won a sectional championship for us when (senior) Anthony Yoder couldn’t start the game at QB. We have told Grooms and Fisher they don’t have to win the game for us, just don’t lose it.”

Wilmore is the team’s leading rusher with 756 yards on 98 rushing attempts. Larry Smith, 6-0 (210) senior, has 273 yards on 43 carries and 5-10 (170) Jackson Marlow 259 on 41.

The top receivers are 5-9 (154) junior Jarrell Pointdexter 29 catches for 572 yards and nine TDs, 5-8 (166) senior Chris Martin 11 for 236 and two TDs, 6-2 (185) senior Adam Glanders 11 for 184 and two TDs (five games due to injury) and 5-1 (185) sophomore Matt Wilmore 10 for 153 and five TDs.

Ryan Tepe, 5-10 (160) junior kicker, has booted 43 PATs and four field goals for the Minutemen,

Leading tacklers for Concord’s Strike Force defense are 6-0 (195) sophomore linebacker Matt Moreno 33 tackles and 12 assists, 5-10 (211) senior linebacker Jake Kronk 35 and 28, 6-1 (255) senior lineman Curtis Brown-Watson 26 and 11 and 6-0 (171) junior safety Brandon Thomas 27 and 12.

Concord has picked off eight passes with 6-0 (187) senior Nick DeFreese having three, Kronk and Thomas both two.

Jimtown’s two losses have been to NorthWood (21-20 in Week 1) and New Prairie (25-7 in Week 5). Rochester has lost to Plymouth (35-0 in Week 2) and Tippecanoe Valley (42-21 in Week 7).

Leading rushers for Jimtown are 5-8 (160) junior Nik Olson 921 yards on 104 carries and 5-8 (180) senior Casey Adams 706 on 125. The Jimmies are a run-oriented team with 2,143 rushing yards and 318 passing. Marquis Schieber, 6-0 (165) junior quarterback, is 17-of-44 passing for 318 yards. He has five TDs and three interceptions. Adams has scored 11 TDs and Olson 10. Hannes Krogman, 6-1 (160) junior, has one field goal and is 38-of-40 on PAT kicks.
