GOSHEN — This has been a winter to remember — or one to forget if you are a high school athletic director trying to reschedule boys basketball games that had to be postponed due to weather conditions.
In what has been a rarity as of late, 24 of the 25 games slated for last week were actually played. The lone exception was NorthWood at John Glenn on Tuesday.
The total for last week’s predictions was 18-6 (75 percent), which puts the year-to-date one at 130-33 (79.8).
Westview at Goshen — The Goshen Redskins were 49-43 winners a year ago and have taken 13 of the last 20 meetings with the Warriors. Both teams are 3-2 versus common foes this season. Goshen is playing better since the return of Brady Bechtel to the lineup as the Redskins have won five in a row since a 53-48 overtime loss to NorthWood. This could be a close one and playing at home might give the Redskins the edge. Goshen.
Fairfield at Churubusco — These two just played last month in a consolation game of the NECC tournament with Fairfield winning 57-52. The Falcons have a 21-4 record against Churubusco in recent meetings. Fairfield has a 6-3 record versus common foes this season while Churubusco is 2-6. Fairfield.
Lakeland at Northridge — The Northridge Raiders were 51-36 winners last season. Northridge has won 20 of the last 23 matchups with the Lakers. Northridge has a 6-0 mark against common opponents so far this season and Lakeland 1-6. Nate Ritchie and company should be more than the Lakers can handle. Northridge.
West Noble at Hamilton — West Noble is 10-2 against common foes this season while Hamilton is 2-8. West Noble holds a 19-5 edge in recent meetings with the Marines following a 73-49 victory a year ago. West Noble.
Concord at Jimtown — Concord has an 18-2 lead in recent meetings with the Jimmies afterlast season’s 68-31 victory. The teams have played five common foes this season. Concord is 3-2 and Jimtown 0-5. Concord.
