Westview soccer team breezes to win at home over Prairie Heights

The Westview Warriors opened defense of their sectional soccer championship at home Thursday evening with a 6-0 blitzing of the Prairie Heights Panthers.

Scoring WHS goals were Adam Christner at 0:56, assisted by Luke Hooley; Hooley at 10:11, assisted by Christner; Dom Hunter at 26:42, assisted by Christner; Jordan Berkey at 36:43, assisted by Hunter; Chad Bontrager unassisted at 39:44; and Kevin Glick at 78:34, assisted by Austin Haney.

Steve Berger and Steve Baumgartner each played 40 minutes in goal for Westview, neither required to make a save.

Westview, 11-4-2, meets Lakeland at noon Saturday in a semifinal after Northridge and Howe Military clash at 10 a.m. Winners return for the title contest at 7 p.m.
