Junior Football Leagues
Goshen
The Goshen Junior Football League season ended Saturday with four games on the Pringle Park fields.
Following are scores and highlights:
Salem Insurance Packers 20, Martin’s Market Vikings 0 — Luis Rivas of the Packers caught a touchdown pass while Corbin Harrison and Jorge Campos ran for scores. Peter Vukovich had three quarterback sacks, forced and recovered a fumble. Nick Gerber had nine tackles and Rodney Spencer made four key blocks.
Logan Troyer had a pass reception for the Vikings and defensive leaders were Ben Hathaway, Austin Reed, Tido Lynn and Moises Hernandez. Ryan Schlichter and Kyler Altenhof were best linemen, Reed recovered a fumble and Hunter Alexander blocked a kick.
Barkes, Kolbus & Rife Bears 14, Bill’s Heating Niners 2 — Oliver Nafziger scored both Bears touchdowns and C.J. Detweiler made a conversion kick. Eric Ritchey had 64 yards rushing, Jacob Isnogle two pass receptions and Nafziger a key interception. Ritchey, Alec Lehr, Shannon Troyer and Logan Holdeman were defensive standouts. Jon Hill, Nathaniel Wertz and Holdeman were outstanding in the offensive line.
Spencer Gibbons accounted for the Niners points on a safety. Zac Troyer had a 25-yard run while defensive stars were Nic Ragsdale, Brady Hoke, Jeffrey Clendening and Brooks Chupp. Logan Cross, Sergio Cervantes and Drake Hostetler were good blockers. Cam Kline had an interception.
Schmucker Heating Redskins 24, Chase Bank Cowboys 24 — Alex Coronado, Austin Roose, Derek DeMeyer, Bryce Boyer, Austin Diaz, Teagon Stutzman and Jacob Collins had sharp defensive games for the Redskins. Line standouts were Brayden Beck, Charles Turner, Bayly Horton, Austin Marlow, Derick Schmucker, Jacob Biller, Coeland England, Sam Bowser and Dan Bowser.
Cameron Maynard ran for two Cowboy touchdowns and Conner Glick passed to Joel Byler for the other. Jacob Fisher also had a 25-yard reception. Defensive leaders were Logan Maynard, Alec Unrue, Taylor Glasgow, Robert Holbrook, Brenden Butler, Ryan Meade and Aaron Montoya. There was good line play from Kacy Hollis, Chris Hamilton, Christian Gonzales, Jon Salisbury and Cody O’Dell. Joseph Whitehead recovered a fumble and Glick kicked three 2-point conversions.
Goshen Community Bank Raiders 14, Goshen FOP Colts 8 — Brady Bechtel of the Raiders threw touchdown passes of 40 yards top Bailey Gessinger and 60 to Jack Gingerich. Abraham Medellion, Salvador Garcia, Andrew Hurtekant, Gessinger, Zach Perez and Greg Bernheisel were defensive standouts. Leading linemen were Isiah Elisha Terry, Jaime Sandoval, Mark Jarvis, Jacob Loney and Grant Simpson. Bechtel and Marcus Guilfoos recovered fumbles and Medellion intercepted a pass. Gingerich accounted for the extra points.
Victor Flores scored the Colts’ touchdown and Jacob Curry caught a pass. Defensive stars were Chase Goodman and Andrew McLaughlin. Flores kicked the 2-point conversion.
