Lady Falcons edge Redskins

A first-round high school girls tennis sectional match between a pair of neighboring rivals was expected to be close Thursday and was.
The Fairfield Lady Falcons won some tightly-contested matches to edge the Goshen Lady Redskins, 3-2, on the Goshen Middle School courts.
Freshmen Brooke Boyts at No. 1 and Abbey Neff at No. 2 were singles winners for the Falcons. Juniors Ashley Neff and Marla Yoder won at No. 1 doubles.
Goshen winners were junior Ellie Berry at No. 3 singles, freshman Anika Baumgartner and sophomore Mackenzie Rozelle at No. 2 doubles.
The Falcons meet Bethany Christian and Jimtown clashes with NorthWood in semifinals at 9 a.m. Saturday with the championship to follow at 1 p.m.
Goshen finishes the season with a 9-7 record.
