Lyndsey McBride national champ

Lyndsay McBride, Northridge High School graduate, is the 2009 NCAA Division II women’s golf national champion.

The University of Indianapolis junior carded a final round 77 on the par 72 layout of 6,121 yards at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.

She finished the four-round event with a 74-75-72-77—298 total, edging Sandra Chanakia of Nova Southeastern who posted a 76-74-75-75—300 as the runner-up.

Nova Southeastern won the team title with a 314-302, 307-307—1,230. Indianapolis had 307-301-315-315—1,248 to tie for third.
