Fairfield tallies 19 runs, has 21 hits


The Fairfield Falcons tallied 12 of their runs in the fifth inning Thursday during a 19-3 Northeast Corner Conference blitz at Prairie Heights. Freshman Zach Newcomer had four of the Falcons’ 21 hits.

Landon Miller hurls Raiders past Wawasee


Senior pitcher Landon Miller tossed a two-hitter as the Northridge Raiders defeated the Wawasee Warriors, 10-0, Thursday in a Northern Lakes Conference contest at Middlebury.
Senior Cody Troyer belted two home runs and classmate Dustin Petersen a grand slam for the Raiders.

Westview rallies; hosts Fairfield in Monday showdown


The Westview Warriors rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Churubusco, 5-4, in Northeast Corner Conference action Thursday night.
Westview junior Chris Miller drove in the tying run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Sophomore Zac Mishler drove in the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice.
Senior Adam Christner (5-1) was the winning pitcher. He entered the game in the fourth with a runner one first base. Christner retired all three Churubusco hitters he faced in the bottom of the seventh.

Goshen’s “C” team notched a 10-6 victory Thursday at Penn.
Casey Looker pitched a complete game with six strikeouts.
Juan Nunez, Chad Weddle and Conner Haviland each singled and doubled for the Redskins. Kevin Silveus and Disnaury Rodriguez also hit safely.
