Goshen girls tennis team plays well in 4-1 loss at Plymouth

The Goshen Redskins dropped a 4-1 Northern Lakes Conference Tuesday evening at Plymouth.
“The score does not reveal how close we came to upsetting the No. 29-ranked Plymouth Pilgrims,” Goshen coach Scott Miller said. “(Senior) Katrina Miller continued her impressive season with a win at No. 1 singles and three of the other courts were close.”
Miller improved her record to 10-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Brittany Marquardt.

No. 1— Katrina Miller (G) def. Brittany Marquardt 6-1, 6-3.
No. 2— Nicole Beguin (P) def. Katie Van Klavern 7-6, 7-3.
No. 3— Chelsea Benge (P) def. Ellie Berry 7-5, 6-3.
Doubles
No. 1— Kristen Holloway-Carly Plumblee (P) def. Andrea Detweiler-Margaret Short 6-1, 6-1.
No. 2— Megan Barron-Lindsey Renz (P) def. Anika Baumgartner-Mackenzie Rozelle 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.
Team Record: Goshen (8-3, 2-3 NLC) visits Elkhart Memorial today.
JV Score: Plymouth won 10-2. (Goshen winners: Nathalie Ventura, Katie Miller-Sofia Hess).
