Goshen Redskins 4th in Kendallville show
The Goshen Redskins placed fourth Saturday at the John Reed Relays at East Noble in Kendallville.
East Noble won with 93.5 points, followed by Mishawaka 81.5, DeKalb 71, Goshen 48, Columbia City 44, Lakeland 32, FW Luers 31, Norwell 24 and Angola 9.
Zach Prater of Goshen was third in the 110 hurdles; Tyler Coburn seventh in the 100; Tyler Wynn, Carson Roberts, Luke Jacobs and Camerpon Miller third in the 3200 relay; Francisco Garcia, Bryan Baer, Tony Pung and Carmelo Castillo fourth in the 1600 relay; Brock Goodman, Prater, Nick Lewallen and Coburn fifth in the 400 relay.
Miller was fifth and Wynn sixth in the 1600-meter run; Miller, Garcia, Jacobs and Wynn third in the distance medley; Goodman, Coburn, Prater and Pung third in the 800 relay; Goodman fourth in high jump; Thomas Gingrich fourth and Scott Flory sixth in shot put; Gingrich third and Jason Lauver sixth in discus.
NorthWood captures frosh-soph crown
NorthWood won the championship of a freshman-sophomore invitational Saturday at Tippecanoe Valley.
Panther winners were Austin Wenger, 4:47 in the 1600 and 10:26 in the 3200; Brock Tuttle, 138-7 in discus; Kyle Yoder, 11.5 in the 100; Thayne White, 52.9 in the 400; Yoder, Daniel Villa, Cody Vicary and Dylan Vicary, 47.6 in the 400 relay.
Taking seconds were Brock Tuttle in shot put; Zach Alexander, Jamin Parker, Kasey Grendys and Mike Pattico in the 3200 relay; White, Villa, Pattico and Michael Paul in the 1600 relay.
