Lady Redskins post two victories at ECA


Goshen defeated Elkhart Christian, 3-0, and Grace Christian, 23-1, Saturday in games played at ECA.
Natalie Newell struck out 16 in the win over ECA. Britta Abney had a single and RBI, Emily Kerns a triple, Newell a double and triple, Katelynn Flory an RBI, Cassi Cook a single and Madison Hussey a double.
Cassi Cook was the winning hurler against Grace. Newell had seven RBI with a triple and three singles. Abney singled, doubled and tripled; Kerns had two singles, Kaitlyn Troyer three singles, Flory a single and double, Cassi Cook a double, three singles and four RBI, Laura Gladfelter two RBI, Kirstie Medford a single, Jena Toney a single and triple, Madison Hussey three hits and three RBI.
Goshen, 5-8, hosts NorthWood at 5 p.m. Monday at Shanklin Park.

Northridge sweeps Barons of DeKalb


Northridge swept to 6-2 and 7-2 victories Saturday in a doubleheader at DeKalb in Waterloo.

Elkhart Memorial nips Raiders in 9th


Elkhart Memorial scored in the bottom of the ninth inning Friday night for a 2-1 Northern Lakes Conference victory over Northridge.

Falcons, Chargers divide JV twin bill


West Noble’s junior varsity won the opener, 14-2, and Fairfield the nightcap, 10-2, in a Saturday doubleheader.
Amanda Cross had two hits for Fairfield in Game 1.
Ashlyn Knepp pitched the Game 2 victory. Amanda Cross had four hits and four stoplen bases, Kelsi Burkholder two triples and Andi Gingerich two doubles.
