Northridge softball girls blank Goshen

— The Northridge Lady Raiders scored late for a 3-0 Northern Lakes Conference softball win Monday over the Goshen Lady Redskins on the Goshen College diamond.
Sami Lopez pitched one inning for the Raiders, striking out two. Ashley Hamilton went the last six, fanning one. Center fielder Ashley Cooper helped with four putouts, two on diving catches.
Freshman Natalie Newell had three strikeouts pitching for GHS and also singled. The only other Redskin baserunner was on an error.
Goshen won the junior varsity game, 5-3, as winning pitcher Cassi Cook struck out four. Chelsea Lambright singled and stole a base for the Redskins. Kirstin Beachy had two RBI for Northridge.
