Goshen JV finishes 19-1

The Goshen High School junior varsity boys basketball team wrapped up a remarkable season with a 19-1 record Friday night.

The young Redskins defeated the West Noble Charger JV, 55-30, in Ligonier.

Goshen, coached by Hal Farmwald, won its first 14 games of the season before losing to Plymouth. The Redskins then finished with five more consecutive victories.

Taylor Kolbus, 6-4 sophomore, led the Goshen JV with 13 points while 6-1 junior Brock Bender had 10, 6-2 sophomore Jon Good nine, 5-9 sophomore T.J. Wright eight, 6-0 junior Andrew Bowers six, 5-11 junior Mac Hussey, 5-9 sophomore Andrew Litwiller and 5-9 junior Scott Landis three each. Sophomore Michael Ciesielski also contributed.

Good had 11 rebounds, Kolbus nine and Landis seven; Bender three assists, Litwiller and Wright both two; Bender four steals, Wright three, Hussey and good both two.

This is believed to be the best Goshen junior varsity record since a 17-3 round in 1987-88 when Greg Cook was the JV coach.

Team statistics and a more extensive wrapup of the Redskin JV season will appear in The News on a future date.
