THE GOSHEN NEWS
Goshen Allstate agent Tim Doud recently went on a seven-day mission trip with Global Aid Network to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Doud was a co-leader of 43 high school students from Dallas. While in the Dominican Republic, his team got the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and distribute food, shoes and school supplies to needy people in schools, villages and drug rehabilitation centers.
At a drug rehab center, Doud had a chance to meet several men who were recovering from cocaine and meth addictions.
One man in particular impressed him with his amazing turn around. According to Global Aid Network officials, “John” had been a performer at a popular resort in Puerto Plata. Due to drug addictions, he lost his family and missed seeing his children grow up. Finally, he entered the Christ-centered addiction center, surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and is getting his life back on track.
Doud and his team also visited several public schools. They were allowed to share the Gospel openly, and many students as well as faculty members responded positively, Network officials said. The children received needed school supplies and said they enjoyed receiving letters from American families.
Doud is looking for volunteers to go and help distribute aid and share the Gospel in the DR or Haiti in August, or Guatemala in November.
Doud is also helping Global Aid Network collect blankets to send to Jordan to help Syrian refugees there. Many of the war refugees have just the clothes on their backs and need warm blankets, officials said. All sizes are needed. Even baby blankets are in demand.
Doud also collects school supplies to be sent with Global Aid Network to children in need all around the world. If anyone is interested in donating items or taking a trip with Doud, contact him at 574-215-0017 or email@example.com.
