Phil and Sharon Wogoman to lead fair parade


About the Wogomans

- Owners of Middlebury Electric Inc. and Eagle Ready-Mix Inc.

-Parents of four sons: Dan Wagner, chief financial officer of NAME, the carnival used at the fair; Jeff Wogoman, a Goshen firefighter and fire chief for Middlebury Fire Department; Lanny Wagner, vice president of Eagle Ready-Mix; and Jason Wogoman, an Elkhart firefighter who works part time at Eagle.

- They have eight grandchildren, two of whom are in 4-H Saddle Club.

- On the fair board for 25 years.

- Along with emergency/safety director duties, Phil is on the long-range planning, technology and land development committees. He was the 1999 fair president and was a 2011 Indiana Association of Fairs and Festivals Hall of Fame Inductee.

- Sharon has been the gate admissions director since 1989. She is on the governance, personnel and golf committee and has served on the executive committee as director at large for four terms.

Last weekend (July 12) the Goshen Parks Department held its Kid’s Try-athlon to promote childhood fitness and this week (July 18) the new bicycle trail is open to the fairgrounds in Goshen, offering residents a healthy way to get to the annual agriculture exposition. Have you joined the local fitness movement?
