Dutch Village Market reopens

— NAPPANEE — The Dutch Village Market has re-opened in Nappanee.

The complex, located at 700 Tomahawk Trail, contains a restaurant, a grocery store, an event center and an antique mall.

According to co-owner Patricia Yoder, the business has undergone a lot of change.

“We’ve had to do a lot of remodeling and a lot of elbow grease has gone into this place,” she said.

The owners, Yoder and her husband Paul, Dewayne Miller and Freeman Bontrager, want the business to be a community gathering place.

“We have a vision of having the event center and the restaurant and the mall back here be a service to the community,” she said. “A place where people can gather and feel at home and have events that will make Nappanee grow.”

According to the Yoders, they have changed the restaurant’s menu a little bit, adding some items while keeping many of the old ones as well.

“Our goal is to have good, homemade Amish cooking,” Patricia said.

The business’s hours are Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The event center holds an antique auction every Tuesday at 4 p.m., a produce auction every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and monthly grocery auction and garage sales.
