UPDATE: Police make five arrests in connection with Sunday night shooting

GOSHEN — Police have arrested five teens in connection with a shooting Sunday night in Goshen.

The people arrested, and the preliminary charges on which they are incarcerated, are:

• Diego Ramos, 19, 57785 Portland Ave., Elkhart, attempted murder and criminal gang activity

• Abraham Delgado, 16, 1020 Lucerne Drive, Goshen, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal gang activity and assisting a criminal

• Jonathan Delgado, 15, 1020 Lucerne Drive, Goshen, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal gang activity and assisting a criminal

• Christian A. Bueno, 16, 109 W. Douglas St., Goshen, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal gang activity, assisting a criminal

• Alejandro Bueno, 16, 811 Emerson St., Goshen, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal gang activity and assisting a criminal.

Goshen police said Jonathan Delgado was incarcerated at the Juvenile Detention Center pending a court hearing today. The other four youths were automatically waived to adult court due to the nature of the alleged offenses. They were incarcerated in the Elkhart County jail.

The shooting occurred in the 300 block of Middlebury Street, across from Chamberlain Elementary School, at about 9:30 p.m.

Three people were treated and released from IU Health Goshen Hospital. They are: Angel Marquez, 18, 405 N. Second St., Goshen, treated for a gunshot wound to his upper left arm; Jose Gonzalez, 19, 2112 E. Lincoln Ave., Goshen, treated for bullet fragment injuries to his right thigh and back; and Juan Diego Rodriguez, 18, 302 Middlebury St., Goshen, was treated for a gunshot wound to his abdomen. A 17-year-old male refused treatment for a minor abrasion.
