Warsaw man stabbed 14 times

Police News for Feb. 22, 2013

A Milford man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder with a knife early Thursday.

Kosciusko County police responded to a 911 call at Suburban Acres Mobile Home Park, 3699 N. C.R. 175 East, Lot 141, Warsaw, at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday.

There they found Ruben Enciso, 39, who had been stabbed 14 times allegedly by Juan Carlos Alvarado, 25, Milford, according to a police release. While clearing a landing zone for the Parkview Samaritan helicopter, Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department members found a second person, Hugo Alvarado, 33, with an apparent leg fracture and contusion to his head. Police said that both Alvarado brothers had arrived at the residence earlier and reportedly confronted Enciso in a back bedroom and stabbed him during a domestic dispute.

According to police, officers received information that Juan Alvarado was at 314 N. Columbia St., Warsaw, about 12:37 a.m. Thursday. He was positively identified by police through a window and taken into custody without incident, police reported.

Juan Alvarado was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail.

Enciso is listed in serious condition at Parkview Regional Medical Center and Hugo Alvarado is in fair condition.

Kosciusko County police also arrested two brothers early this morning on drug charges that stemmed from the arrest of Juan Alvarado. Andres Oscar Cervantes, 36, and his brother Armando Rene Cervantes, 36, both residing at the 314 N. Columbia St., Warsaw, were arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.

Officers said they found approximately 1¼ pounds of marijuana, along with several devices used to smoke marijuana/paraphernalia, as well as the weapon/knife used in the stabbing during their search of the home. Both Cervanteses are being held at the Kosciusko County Jail.
