Fitness Fridays begin at Parkview LaGrange

LaGRANGE — Looking for a way to “jump start” your weekend activities? Leaders at Parkview LaGrange Hospital invite the public to join them every Friday at 4 p.m. for a 2-mile walk around the hospital’s half-mile walking track.

“Fitness Fridays” are the product of a partnership between Parkview LaGrange Hospital and the Cole Family YMCA and are sponsored by the YMCA and Parkview LiVe. Every Friday at 4 p.m. — rain or shine — now through early October, hospital leaders will walk with community members. Everyone will meet on the south lawn of the Medical Office Building on the hospital’s campus to begin their walk.

“We’ll be registering walkers on site at the walk. Anyone who participates in 10 Fitness Friday walks will receive a free T-shirt,” said Jen Will, the hospital’s foundation coordinator. “If you have access to a computer, we encourage you to go to parkview.WellnessSteps4Life.com and register there. The website provides an easy way to track your weekly activity.”

“Sometimes just a little camaraderie can help each of us stay focused on getting in some regular, healthy activity,” said hospital president Rob Myers. “We’re hoping these Fitness Friday walks will become second nature — something fun to look forward to as we move from the work week into the weekend.”
