Historic mill grinds on

BRISTOL — The Bonneyville Mill Park opened for the season Wednesday.

The park, located on C.R. 131 just outside of Bristol, is home to a historic mill that still turns out cornmeal, buckwheat, rye and wheat flour, according to assistant miller Jeff Schumacher.

The mill  is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through October. Guided tours may be scheduled Monday through Friday.

Schumacher said despite the mill’s signage saying the mill was established in 1832, the mill itself was likely built around 1839.
