— MIDDLEBURY — LoveWay organizers are planning for their 19th annual Ride-a-Thon Fundraiser set for Oct. 12.

The morning will start off with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast provided and served by the Elkhart County Exchange Club from 7 to 10:30 a.m. The cost for breakfast, including sausage and a drink, is $5.

Horse owners are invited to collect pledges and take part in a 10-mile trail ride through the woods, hills and meadows that the Riegsecker family has allowed LoveWay to use.

Registration for the ride will be from 8 to 10 a.m., with the lead-off starting at 10 a.m. The minimum fee to ride is $35, which includes access to the trail, a hot lunch after the ride and a goody bag.

Those who collect more than $75 will be entered into the door prize drawing and will also receive a special gift. Riders collecting at least $125 will receive access to the trail, a hot lunch after the ride, a goody bag, special gift, door prize entry and a T-shirt. They will also get a raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing for a $300 gift certificate to Troyer’s Saddlery for every $100 collected.

There will be a short ceremony to honor this year’s grand marshal Clint Yeager and student ambassador Naomi Eby before the beginning of the ride at 10 a.m.

The public is invited to take their children to “horse around” at the Fall Frolic that begins at 10 a.m. There is a $5 admission fee that includes pony rides, a petting zoo, clowns, face painting, children’s games, a Jazzy Jumper bounce house, crafts, Stevens Puppets production of “Beauty & the Beast” at 10:30 a.m. and lunch. The Fall Frolic will run until 2 p.m. and will also feature a bake sale.

Free tram rides will be available starting at 10 a.m., provided by Bonneyville Carriage.

Ride-a-Thon is one of LoveWay’s primary fundraisers that enables the organization to provide therapeutic equestrian services to more than 200 people with special needs each year. All proceeds from the event will ensure these programs can continue to run, acc.

The public is invited to attend and tour the organization to see all the facility improvements that have been made in the last year.
