Wakarusa merchants: Shop local, earn chances to win Xbox One

WAKARUSA — The Wakarusa Chamber of Commerce Retail Committee is launching its Christmas promotion with a focus on shopping local and offering chances to win the new Xbox One.

Twenty-one Chamber member businesses will be offering specials, refreshments, storewide discounts, sales and unique gift ideas to accompany the give away.

“There’s a lot of ways to enter, so you need to pay attention," said Chamber Secretary Deb Shively. "You might want to bring a sheet of address labels.”

To begin, she said, you get one entry for visiting any participating business now through Dec. 14.

Secondly, shoppers get two entries for visiting the store of the day. Each day of the promotion, one or more businesses will be featured as store of the day, Shively said.

Along with two entries for visiting the store of the day, those who make a purchase of $10 or more a third entry.

The Chamber Retail Committee is also incorporating the National “Shop Small Business Saturday” into its promotion.

Shop Small Business Saturday is this coming Saturday. All 15 of the participating businesses will be a store of the day, offering two entries plus another entry for a $10 purchase.

Four businesses will be set-up inside the Chamber Office, 100 W. Waterford St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This means shoppers can receive eight entries for just walking through the Chamber door on Saturday.
