---- — NAPPANEE — The boil order for water in Nappanee will continue until further notice. A failure of equipment at the water treatment plant as well as power failure to the back-up system caused the water towers to run dry around 7 a.m. Monday.

Residents are advised to continue boiling any water that they consume for drinking or cooking until notified that the order has been lifted. Water is safe to use without boiling for bathing and laundry.

Water Superintendent Gale Gerber expressed apologies to the residents for this unavoidable situation and wishes to reassure them that they are working to correct the problem as speedily and safely as possible as well as working to ensure that it doesn’t re-occur.
