Book sale set at GPL


Soul, Ink

The Soul, Ink writers’ group is scheduled to meet Nov. 13 and Dec. 11 starting a 6 p.m.

Cinema Showcase

Tuesday at 1 p.m., the public is invited to the library to see “Quartet,” directed by Dustin Hoffman.

‘Koran by Heart’

The public is invited to the library Tuesday at 7 p.m. to watch the film “Koran by Heart,” a coming of age story about Muslim children. The story takes place in Cairo during the annual Quran reciting contest for Muslim youth. This is a companion film to the “Let’s Talk About It” series “Muslim Journeys: Connected Histories.”

Book discussion

This fall’s theme for the “Let’s Talk About It” book discussion series is “Muslim Journeys: Connected Histories.” The fourth featured book is “Leo Africanus” by Amin Maalouf. Goshen College’s Paul Keim will give the lecture Nov. 19 at 7 p.m.

Book signing

Edgar Award-winning Author Theresa Schwegel will be at the library Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. She will give a presentation on her latest thriller “The Good Boy,” followed by a book signing. Books will be available for purchase.

Computer classes

Computer classes are underway at the library Fridays at 11 a.m. “How-to” topics include using social media, email, downloading pictures and music and using the library’s online resources. To register, call Beth at 825-5601.

Craft Night

Young people in grades six through 12 are invited to the library for craft programs the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Call Kelsey at the library for program details.

Fall programs

Young people can still participate in this fall’s Babies and Books, Toddler Time, Story Time and Home School Club. Call the Children’s Desk or stop by the library to register. See the Kids homepage on the library website for program details.

Quilt Guild meets

The Nappanee Quilt Guild, a club for those interested in new quilting techniques, meets on the second Thursday of each month at the library. Members will meet at the library next on Nov. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
