Homemakers celebrate special week with gift

LAGRANGE — LaGrange County Extension Homemakers presented a gift basket to the parents of the first baby born during Indiana Extension Homemakers Association Week, Oct. 14 to 18, at the Family Birthing Center at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.

“We’re all about family,” said Extension Homemaker Carla Whitlock, as she and fellow homemakers Marcia Crow, Alverna Carpenter, Eunice Gagnon, Lois Haarer and Ann Fremion presented a basket filled with baby essentials. “It gives us a lot of joy to give a baby a good start in celebration of IEHA week.”

Indiana Extension Homemakers Association, founded in 1913, continues to build on its heritage by working to strengthen Indiana homes and families. It is the mission of the Indiana Extension Homemakers Association to strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development and volunteer community support, according to club members.

Parkview LaGrange is a not-for-profit member of Parkview Health, a family of hospitals and health care services covering a 15-county region in northeastern Indiana and western Ohio.
