Jeep enters Depot building

GOSHEN — A Jeep Grand Cherokee struck the main entrance of The Depot building, located at 1013 Division St., Goshen. The crash occurred at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday.

Dorothy N. Uryga, 81, Millersburg, told police she was driving west in the Depot lot and was making a right turn north into a handicapped-accessible parking space. For reasons unclear, the vehicle accelerated and slammed into the building’s main entrance. Witness Yolanda Solano of Goshen told police she was going into the main entrance when she heard the vehicle accelerate.

Solano said she pushed her sister out of the way and was just able to get inside before being struck by the Jeep.

Solano’s sister, Lupe Cortes, fell from being pushed and struck her head. She was transported by ambulance to IU Health Goshen Hospital. Uryga was checked out by paramedics at the scene.
