46th Annual Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale starts Friday

GOSHEN — The 46th Annual Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale will run Friday and Saturday at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen.

Events Friday take place between 5 and 9 p.m.

The public is invited to enjoy a haystack dinner, along with other Mennonite and international food selections.

Attendees can peruse handmade quilts, buy items at craft and garage sales and at the silent auction. The auction will have online bidding.

Also, sale goers can relax by the Heritage park stage where there will be live music and the fair trade coffee house. The men’s chorus, made up of men from many of the local Mennonite churches, will be providing a short concert at 7 p.m. in the quilt auction area. This choir will be doing a longer, second concert at Sauder Concert Hall at Goshen College Music Center at 7 p.m. Sunday.

There will be plenty of food to eat Friday and Saturday. Baked goods will be sold on both days.

The pancake and sausage breakfast and haystack breakfast both kick off Saturday at 7 a.m.

Beginning at 8 a.m., registered participants start the 5K Run and 2K Walk for Relief. The quilt auction also begins at 8 a.m. For a more complete schedule of events, go to the Relief Sale’s website at www.mennonitesale.org.

Proceeds go to Mennonite Central Committee relief efforts to countries around the world. Admission and parking is free.
