ELKHART COUNTY FAIR: Auction total tops $1 million

GOSHEN — The livestock auction at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair made history Friday, topping the million-dollar mark for the first time.

The final total came in a $1,042,127.60.

“It was pretty incredible,” Extension educator and auction coordinator Jeff Burbrink said after the sale ended. “...I was pretty proud.”

The previous auction record of $964,127.20 was set in 2011. Last year’s total was $931,871.94.
