Goshen, Fairfield, Concord schools closed Tuesday, other events canceled

Announcements of closings Tuesdays due to the winter weather are beginning to be made.

Goshen, Concord and Fairfield school officials have announced school has been canceled for Tuesday.

Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore said all Elkhart city offices will be closed Tuesday.

The Interurban Trolley and ADA Access paratransit services will stop running at 6 p.m. today and will not operate Tuesday, according to the Michiana Area Council of Governments.

The last trolley run today will be from the transfer center in downtown Elkhart at 5 p.m. and the service will stop at 6 p.m.

And, the Elkhart County Humane Society will be closed Tuesday. The society said reports made to the society’s hot line will be monitored. According to the staff, reports of animals left out for long periods in the frigid weather should be made to local law enforcement agencies.

In addition, many local industries and businesses closed early today and will be closed Tuesday.
