A ROOKIE PLAYER’S introduction to the NFL has gone from harmless teasing, like having to stand on a chair and sing his school’s fight song, to something approaching extortion, like sticking rookies with intentionally outrageous bills for costly dinners.
There is a way to stop this outrageous harassment. The NFL has a commissioner, each team has a head coach and platoons of assistant coaches and presumably a cadre of older, more experienced team leaders.
It is time for adult supervision in the locker room.
