Bristol holding fun with old books contest

Story House

The Story Hour program is Nov. 25 and 26 at 10:15 a.m. The story will involve a group of mice. Registration is required.

Lapsit

Lapsit will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. Children and their caregivers will hear a story and participate in a time of sharing. Registration is required.

E-reader

E-reader classes are scheduled Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Each session is designed to offer participants the opportunity to examine the iPad, Kindle, Kindle Fire, Sony Reader, Nook, Kyros 7 tablet, Ematic tablet and HansPad.

A brief discussion will take place about E-readers and tablets. Participants will have time to examine each device. Registration is limited to people ages 13 and older.

Library closed

The Wakaursa Library will be closed Nov. 28 for the observance of Thanksgiving.

Memorial book

“Fenton Burmese Glass” by Debbie Cole is given in memory of Erma Frye by the Wakarusa American Legion Auxiliary.

Dial A Story

A rabbit learns that Thanksgiving is a time of sharing in “Old Man Rabbit’s Thanksgiving Dinner.” Hear this tale on the Dial A Story line by calling 862-4441.

Excel class

A beginner-intermediate class for Microsoft Excel 2010 users is set for Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

‘Who-niversary Party’

A “Who-niversary Party” celebrating 50 years of “Doctor Who” and the arrival of the 12th Doctor is planned at the library Saturday. The event starts at noon.

Attendees are invited to show up in costume — or just speak with a British accent — and provide a Doctor Who-themed treat to share, if they wish. The “Who-niversary” will include trivia, tea, bananas and “Circular Gallifreyan.”
